What the Research Shows
In his 2023 article "On the Outcomes of Teacher Wellbeing: A Systemic Review of Research," Benjamin Dreer examines the effects of teacher wellbeing on various aspects in education. Dreer analyzed 44 studies encompassing data from over 76,990 teachers. The review identified significant relationships between teacher wellbeing and several positive outcomes, including improved sleep quality, increased teacher retention, enhanced teacher-student relationships , and better student outcomes. Though he acknowledges the need for future research to explore these relationships, the link between healthy educators and student outcomes is consistently strong.
